2) Develoment of a visual "CURRENT STATE" map, and then later a "FUTURE STATE" map, helps everybody clearly understand the improvement opportunities for the business and its supply chain

The Workshops
|
Through group exercises, the workshops allow participants to understand all the material flows and information flows required to produce a particular product.
The first workshop takes the participants step-by-step through developing their own current state Value Stream Map, usually from customer through to supplier. The second workshop is a transition between the current and future states where detailed current state information is used to develop a deeper understanding of the current situation and what can be achieved in the future.
The final workshop focuses on implementation, sustaining and improving through development of a continuous flow project. The outcome of the final workshop is a future state Value Stream Map along with target conditions, an implementation plan and defined measures for indicating performance against goals.
